Joslyn Stallman

Joslyn Eagle Scout

Joslyn’s Eagle Scout community service project focused on creating 50 ‘essentials’ backpacks for Gateway Shelter.  Her inspiration was a project she had done for her Girl Scouts of America’s Silver Award, which was creating 60 ‘essentials’ backpacks for the Aurora Homeless Shelter.  Each backpack would initially contain 1 blanket, 1 stuffed animal, a pair of socks, 2 new masks, and a bag of new toiletries.  Through generous donations by her troop, family, and friends, Joslyn was able to put together 100 backpacks and fill 2 1/2 tubs with extra supplies.  Each backpack was put together with the help of volunteers from Troop 630G and B.  Joslyn hopes her backpacks help her community and is looking forward to continuing servicing the communities around her.
